SoundNativ is still a small team, so every engineer ships product. You will take a feature from a rough idea to something thousands of learners open every day, and you will be close enough to the data to see whether it worked.
There is a lot left to build. Think of how engaging Duolingo is for beginners, then imagine that for people who already speak English and want to sound clear and confident at work. That is the bar.
What you'll work on
- The SoundNativ iOS and Android apps, built with React Native and Expo.
- soundnativ.com: the Next.js web app, accent assessment, quiz funnels and checkout.
- Data models and APIs on Node and MongoDB, plus the glue to our speech scoring service.
- Internal tools: the admin and content system we use to build lessons and see what is going on.
Who you are
- You work fast, keep things simple and are happy to get your hands dirty.
- You sweat the small stuff. A smoother recording flow or a clearer score screen matters to you.
- No task is too small and no problem is too big to work through.
- You use Claude Code, Cursor or similar tools every day and know where they help and where they don't.
Requirements
- 3+ years shipping React or React Native apps that real users depend on.
- Comfortable on the backend: Node, TypeScript and a document or relational database.
- You have worked on a small team where you owned outcomes, not tickets.
- Clear written English. We are remote, so most of our collaboration is in writing.
Nice to have
- Shipped an Expo app to the App Store and Google Play.
- Experience with subscriptions, paywalls or in-app purchases.
- Worked with audio on mobile: recording, playback, latency.
- You learned English as a second language yourself.
What we offer
- Competitive pay, based on your experience.
- Work from anywhere.
- Flexible hours. We care about what you ship, not when you are online.
- Real ownership from week one, and a direct line to the founders.
- The AI tools you need to move fast, paid for.
About SoundNativ
